Somewhere Over The Rainblog is a creative space that celebrates the power of language and its ability to change the world. In recent weeks, the Black Lives Matter movement has inspired millions, demonstrating the power of language and peaceful protest. I understand that as a white person I will NEVER understand the pain and anger felt by POC in our world today. I am aware that I need to be proactively practicing anti-racism behaviours and actions. In this case, the worst possible thing to do is to remain silent. However, by continuing to educate myself on these issues, by signing petitions and by donating to organisations such as Black Lives Matter, I CAN be an ally to those suffering right now. I urge you to do the same.

Supporting the Black Lives Matter movement on social media is not enough.

It requires conversation.

It requires education.

It requires action.

Somewhere Over The Rainblog will continue to speak out against injustice and racial discrimination.
